Americans and Pizza!

  When in New York!

Americans and their love for Pizzas, is known to everyone. Americans love their Pepperonis and Deep dish pizzas. And the best part, you can find different styles of Pizzas in different parts of the country! How cool is that! We have the New York Style Thin-crust Pizzas in the NYC, Deep Dish Thick-crusty Pizzas in Chicago, Sicilian Pizza in the North-east America, but there's a next to zero chance of finding a typical Italian Pizza anywhere. LOL!

While Pizza typically comes from Italy, Americans have developed a profound love for their pizzas. Whenever you visit the NYC, do not forget to try the signature Pepperoni Pizza and of course, the Margherita Pizza. The Oh-So-Cheesy Pizzas will definitely take your heart away,(while the Italians beg to differ).

Who doesn't like Pizza? Take it from Americans, they can have pizzas almost everyday and not get bored of it. Even stores there, like Costco, serve pizzas as a snack and they love it. A Survey shows that 98% of people in America eat Pizza, while 54% love it. The American students, prefer having Pizzas for lunch everyday as it is a cheaper option for them and it also manages to deliver amazing taste.

Made it till here? A surprise is waiting for y'all! Here's an oh-so-cheesy pizza recipe that will make you drool and cheat on your diets! Haha;)

What you'll need?

Pizza Dough:
Flour- 250 g
Water- Lukewarm, 150 ml
Dry Yeast- 2g
Olive Oil- 2 tbsp
Salt- 1 tsp
Sugar- 1/2 tsp

Pizza Sauce:
Tomatoes- 6 nos.
Oil- 2 tbsp
Garlic- 3 cloves, finely chopped
Onion- 1/4, finely chopped
Salt- To Taste

Toppings:
Mozzarella Cheese
Basil leaves- 3 nos.

Instructions:
  • Combine the fresh yeast and the sugar and stir with a teaspoon. The yeast will dissolve turning the mixture quite runny as you stir. Pour yeast mixture into the lukewarm water and stir to combine.
  • Add the water mixture to the flour and start stirring with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. As the dough is starting to come together, add the salt and the olive oil, keep stirring until the water has been absorbed into the flour, then tip onto a slightly floured and knead for about 2 minutes.
  • Form the kneaded dough into a ball and place it back into the bowl. Cover with a towel or cling film and let rest for one hour at room temperature. After one hour, the dough will have grown. Take it out of the bowl, punch out the air and stretch it into a circle to make your pizza.
  • Now, add 6 tomatoes (slitted at bottom) into boiling water and blanch. Close the vessel and boil for 3-4 minutes or till the skin starts to leave from tomatoes. Peel the skin of tomatoes once they are cooled completely.
  • Take 3 peeled tomatoes and blend to a smooth puree. Chop the other 3 tomatoes discarding the seeds. Transfer to a plate and keep aside.
  • Heat some oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Add chopped garlic and Saute till they turn slightly golden brown. further, Saute chopped onions till they change color. Then add chopped-deseeded tomatoes and cook completely. Also add the prepared tomato puree.
  • Mix well and let it boil into a smooth sauce. Let it cool down. And we're done!
  • Simply Pour the sauce on the spread pizza dough, and add loads of mozzarella cheese to it, I repeat, LOADS!
  • Bake the pizza on a pre-heated to 400 degrees F for 15 to 20 minutes.
And voila! The Pizza is ready! Try this out, and I'm sure you'd want to have Pizza everyday!
